![]() ![]() They had more work to do than they expected but they decided they didn't have enough players? What fine tuning needs to be done? Is the NA version of Hyper Universe maintained balance wise differently than the Korean version? Are there region specific bugs somehow? Is the Korean version also in paid early access? The best scenario we figured was to just unlock the content and Hypers and have you try them out to get the full feel of it. We’ve made a lot of changes, and we’re not quite sure how you feel about them yet. Why? Because it doesn’t need to be kept behind closed doors anymore, but we still need your feedback on how the game feels. However, with the amount of content we have so far, we’ve decided to go in Early Access. ![]() After combing through much of our data, we’ve decided that Alphas and Betas just were not long enough, and we didn’t have enough testers to try out Hyper Universe. This includes improving matchmaking times, how to introduce you to Hyper Universe, and even how you interact with one another in the battlefield. What we had not expected though was how much fine tuning we still needed to do. The worst part is it is your fault(publisher and devs) they don't trust what it says.ĭuring our Alpha and Beta tests, we received a lot of feedback about the game balance, which we expected. Now, next let's address this early access thing they mentioned, why early access? I know some people will link me to their blog(which I've already read) and I know whomever from the company who might read this(probably no one, but I will touch up on this later.) will probably try to link that same blog post in response, but sadly, it is just not trustworthy and no one who knows you will think you're genuine. If you were one of those people who loved Sudden Attack 2 or Ghost in the Shell, or perhaps you were excited to play either of them, would you wanna play Hyper Universe after you realized Nexon was the publisher? How many people got reimbursed for the cash they spent in those games that got shut down? Is there any guarantee Hyper Universe isn't gonna close up shop after "early access"? Is anyone in Korea getting money back on the scantily clad skins they purchased? Where is the guarantee that we can play this game 2 months after we pay for it, since we know this isn't an isolated case? When Hyper Universe(a game that is completely 'finished' and has already been playable for a long time) entered the lucrative 'early access' list on Steam, why would anyone knowing who Nexon is, wanna give them money for part of a finished product that has been on life support since release back in Korea? Sudden Attack 2 Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex - First Assault Online Dirty Bomb(saved by another publisher who wasn't Nexon) Off the top of my head, I can think of three games Nexon screwed up(or tried too) When gamers hear "Nexon" they think of a greedy little goblin, not a respected developer with good customer service - not at all. They aren't Valve or Blizzard, they don't have prestige associated with their name, it's quite the opposite. Hyper Universe isn't suffering from just censorship and questionable business practices, it's also a victim of being in a bad spot on release because Nexon has no fans and they get no respect from gamers. Okay first, let's address Nexon's reputation for shutting down games early - and I mean REALLY early. One hypothetical conclusion of what Nexon should do to salvage Hyper Universe, and another one speculating about what they might end up doing. Let's see if we can get to the bottom of this and offer two conclusions. What are they planning to do about this unsustainable player population? Why are Hypers that are fully bug tested and working taking so long to transition over and why do they feel the need to collect early access money from a different market that is up to it's ears in poorly made EA games? The population today went from about 70 people to 120 back down to the 80s. Searching the game extensively just tells you the game is plagued with censorship and that it has a high cost of $15.99 for "early access" when the game is already tested and running for over a year in Korea.įirst, what the hell happened? Second, why is the community manager a moderator on the subreddit for this game? Why are two out of 4 mods have their accounts suspended or are inaccessible? Why didn't the team at Nexon take away Raziel's social privileges after she sank the PR reputation as far as she did? Why are they charging for "early" access when the game isn't early and has been accessible for awhile now? So the only news about Hyper Universe that can be found is bad(or good if you dislike Nexon). ![]()
